Tristan Alexander

Hello Friends, family, and others. We are happy to announce the arrival of Tristan Alexander. The little man decided to get the party started a little early. The stork was supposed to arrive on November 10, we think he got a one of those "ding" deals on Southwest Airlines and decided to stop by at 2:00 AM Eastern time on October 17th. Below you will find the play by play.

I have to admit as a man, there is nothing like laying down to catch some good zzz's in the evening. Well, that was my plan, that plan was altered when the bedroom door bust open @ 2 and my lovely wife yells, "get up.....the baby is
coming...I'm calling my mom."

My reaction, I laid there thinking, man, this is a hell of a dream, considering 4 weeks earlier, I dreamed I was a having a baby girl. There was no bedroom door and no yelling, this was different. Anyway, I jumped up, did the quick fast get ready thing and prayed all was well and waited for Nana to come watch the boys. BTW, big shots
to Nana for coming through in the clutch.

Sybil and I g
rabbed a few essentials (AKA - My laptop, camera, and keys) and darted for the 20 minute commute. We have done this trip several times, so I wasn't worried until Nana gave the reminder, look out for Deer. Just what I needed, as I'm buzzing up the M5 freeway, fears of taking out Bambi or Rudolph. Then I thought, if only I had the Lexus IS 300 (Yes, I still miss my sporty car), I could have blown past before the deer knew what zoomed by. Well, that wasn't happening, so I fired up the paid for Honda Accord and started my white knuckle commute.

We arrived at Huron Valley Sinai with no problems, the nurses checked Sybil o
ut and decided she was having a baby. I'm thinking awesome, I get to finally see my baby girl(Remember my dream).

We checked in to our birthing suite and hung out, and waiting for something to happen. For me, I was in heaven, the hospital had WIFI, so I figured I could crank out some wo
rk stuff prior to the birth. Well, the clock started ticking and they kept checking, not much was going on. Finally at 11:00 AM Eastern, we decided to help nature out. Man, its amazing what the drugs can do.

Sybil started having consistent contractions and feeling it. We had a family
discussion, should we get a epidural. For all the guys reading this, you know my answer, "its your call honey". I wasn't getting trapped with saying, suck it up, lets go natural. It wasn't my decision to make, plus I wasn't feeling what she was feeling. I have had 7 surgeries in my life and never had issues with the drugs. I know the benefits, trust me. Anyway, the folks came in to provide the epidural, they told me to get lost for 15 minutes. I figured great, I can make a few phone calls. As I'm checking on the boys and talking to Nana. I hear this "Mr Brown...Please return to the OB". I was thinking, awesome, they have a Dr. Brown in the house. But something told me, not that Dr.Brown. They wanted me!!!

First reaction, what the heck is going on. I bust in the room, calm, cool and collected. To see the stage lights are on and the Dr is grabbing the catchers mitt. Of course, my next r
eaction is what the hell and did I black out. As I said, I'm calm cool and collected, I just say OK, lets get the party started. I have been here before. I have 2 kids, I'm a seasoned professional at this wife hand holding thing.

Anyway, I assume the post, preparing to have my had crushed by Sybil's grip. I positioned the camera for easy access to capture the "Hello World Shot" and get ready. No lie, within like 3 minutes, I see a head and bam the little man rolls out. I of course capture 50 pictures and video for the archive. The Dr yells, we have a boy. I'm like but my dream said, its was supposed to be a girl. So I guess that seals it, no prom dress, no shotgun by my front door for the knuckle head boyfriend, no 100k wedding. Oh well, that is for some other guy. Let me take moment to just say Sybil is a rockstar, she could be a birth coach. Every time I see her give birth, I'm in awe. She could have a baby for me any day, well let me clarify, if I was ever going to have another child, she could have the baby for me. Seriously, she could be like that Super Nanny lady. Sh
e could come in and tell women how to have a baby. I'm thinking, we may start a side hustle, she can be the Bill Belichick of birth coaches and of course, I can be her agent Drew Rosenhaus.

Alas, we are all fine and have another fella in the house. Early indications are that he has daddy's stunning looks and curly hair. He is pretty mellow and laid back. Miles and Julian came to check him out. They approved and said we can keep him. Julian is already making plans to give up his room, so Tristan can have the yellow room. Julian, always the crafty fellow, figures he can have the blue room with the cool Thomas train. Mind you, Miles is in there, he figures Miles has to move out, where, he doesn't care. Anyway, we will work it out all out.

The plan is to go home Friday, thanks for all for the well wishes and we hope to share our bundle of joy with everyone soon.
